I have wanted to try a golden goddess theme for a long while and I finally found the time to play around with it. This is how it went…
Crafting the Clouds ☁️
Imagine floating in a sky made of cotton—sounds dreamy, right? That's exactly the vibe I wanted for this Golden Goddess shoot. So, I bought some cotton fluff, spray glued it to white netting I had at home, and voilà! My very own cloudy sky was born. And let me tell you, the fluff got everywhere, but it was totally worth it.
Dressing Up in Gold ✨
Now, what’s a goddess without her bling? I shopped for all things gold. We're talking jewellery, fabrics, and even gold eyeshadow. I began trying things on, mixing and matching from a massive collection, the combinations were endless. Each piece felt like I was ready for a carnival. It was so much fun dressing up and transforming into sparkling radiance. Goddess vibes is a mood, and I was loving it.
Striking a Pose 📸
With the clouds set and the gold in place, it was time to set the lighting and use the remote trigger on a timer. Checking each shot to see what works and what can be improved. It takes time doing this on my own but it was exhilarating seeing the results.
The Portrait Session 🖼️
After basking on the clouds, I decided to change the look for a portrait session. I have so many options to choose from, at some point I had force myself to stop trying things on and start taking pictures! Adding face gems and swapping braids for an afro was a quick way to change the look completely.
The Mobile Studio 📸
Guess what? The whole set, backdrops, lighting, clouds and an abundance of gold and yellow outfits, fabrics, headdresses, flowers and jewellery are all packed up and ready to travel. I’ll be on the road, setting up group shoots in various locations. Join me as I create this goddess-themed group shoot near you.
